Historical Note Cont'd:    The Learjet Model 35 is a multirole business jets and military transport aircraft manufactured by Learjet and its primary use and operator is the United States Air Force. 

The Learjet Model 35's maiden flight was on August 22, 1973 and the aircraft gained its FAA certification on July 1974. 
The Learjet 35A is a variant of the Model 35 also known as the Model 35A. It is an upgraded Model 35 introduced in 1976, replacing the 35.  As of January 2007, the US National Transportation Safety Board database lists 19 fatal accidents for the 35/35A.  There were 600 35As built.
