Historical Note: An advanced technical and aerodynamic achievement by the Canadian aviation industry, the delta-winged CF-105 interceptor held the promise of Mach 2 speeds at altitudes exceeding 50,000 feet, but the Arrow program was abruptly and controversially halted in 1959. The first release in the new Canadian Heritage Series of aircraft produced by the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, this limited edition, 1/72 scale, die cast model of that iconic CF-105 – the first die cast Arrow! – is a real beauty!
Replicating one of the five Arrows produced and tested before the program was cancelled (this aircraft exceeded the speed of sound on its September 22, 1958, maiden flight), this model features engraved panel lines; a detailed, two-seat cockpit with a glazed canopy; realistic air intakes and engine exhausts; optional-position air brakes and landing gear; an authentic day-glo paint scheme with the Canadian Commonwealth "red ensign" flag (which was applied only to this Arrow); and more. 13¾" long; includes a display stand.
