"FIRST FLIGHT" COIN COLLECTION SET

Description:    2003 marked one of the most important milestones in the history of mankind - the 100th anniversary of manned flight. On December 17, 1903, at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, Orville and Wilbur Wright became the first people in history to fly a heavier-than-air machine. This collection is a unique tribute their achievement.

First Flight Collection includes a classic Indian Head Cent that was issued in 1903, as well as State Quarters depicting the historic first flight from North Carolina (where the flight took place) and Ohio (the Wright brothers’ home state). The 100th anniversary 2003 Silver Eagle is colorized to commemorate the historic first flight. (The 2003 Silver Eagle contains approximately 1 oz of fine silver)
