The airline operated out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from 1939 to 1979, becoming the largest airline in the northeastern United States in 1972 before changing its name to USAir in 1979. The film promotes the airline’s use of modern technology, thorough training of mechanics and other staff, and the on-flight cuisine. The commercial is written, directed, and edited by Donn Bates, and photographed by Bill Conron with location recordings by Bob Lawrence. It is narrated by Art Balinger and Mari Alden and is a Film & Television Communications Production for Allegheny Airlines with Ben Marble as executive producer in cooperation with Connell Douglas Corporation. At the time the film was made, Allegheny was operating the McDonnell Douglas DC-9-10 as well as the Douglas DC-9-30 which the company named the "Vistajet".
