The 1930's have been called the golden years of flying. Pilots often refer to the biplanes produced in this era as the best flying machines ever made. Many of the pilots who flew in World War 11 learned to fly in a Stearman. Even though the Stearman is long since retired from manufacturing, many are still flying in airshows and by recreational pilots.
