The Waco Aircraft Corporation was formed in 1929 from the Advanced Aircraft Company. By that year, Advance was the largest producer of commercial aircraft in the U.S., with production said to have been greater than that of all other U.S. aircraft manufactures combined. This model, the UBF, was an ideal plan for commercial use as well as pleasure flying. It was said to have been so smooth and steady that it seemed to fly itself.
